On Friday, the House Judiciary Committee officially voted to approve impeachment articles against Mr. Trump. Trump knows the clock is ticking and he is letting everyone know it especially on Twitter.
On Saturday evening, in his usual fashion, he issued a tweet blasting Fox News for interviewing House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff.
Here’s how the rest of the Twitter world responded:
According to POLITICO:
‘Trump, who often calls and tunes into Fox News shows, has recently disparaged the network for occasionally critical coverage of his presidency, encouraging supporters to seek out alternatives and tweeting support for One America News Network, a lesser-known conservative network.’
Some Fox News’ hosts have pushed back on Trump’s attacks. Host Shep Smith actually left the network related to divisions over largely pro-Trump coverage.
‘The president’s criticism comes after a week that saw the Justice Department’s top watchdog conclude that the FBI’s investigation into Russian influence on his campaign was justified and House Democrats approved articles of impeachment against him.’
Former FBI Director James Comey went on Twitter Monday, to respond to FBI Inspector General Michael Horowitz’ findings:
‘No treason. No spying on the campaign. No tapping Trump’s wires. It was just good people trying to protect America.’
The House is expected to vote on articles of impeachment this coming week. If passed, the process will head to the Senate for a trial where Republicans control the majority. Currently, negotiations are taking place on who will testify and how long the trial will last.
