President Donald Trump has been on vacation in Florida for the holidays, but his obsessions have remained squarely focused on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the rest of the Democrats who have dared to seek to hold him accountable for his well-documented belligerence. This Tuesday, as the year and the decade drew to a close, Trump took to Twitter to again rant about Pelosi, and again he resorted to absolutely outlandish insults. While the rest of the country grapples with grave real world issues like safety from racist violence and accessibility of healthcare, housing, and more, Trump seems to be sitting around and seeing what insults he can come up with.
‘Remember when Pelosi was screaming that President Trump is a danger to our nation and we must move quickly. They didn’t get one Republican House vote, and lost 3 Dems. They produced no case so now she doesn’t want to go to the Senate. She’s all lies. Most overrated person I know!’

Trump has flipped out on an almost daily basis since Pelosi decided to delay transmitting the impeachment case against Trump to the Senate following the House’s formal impeachment of the president. Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues have been concerned by Republican pledges against impartiality in dealing with the Senate trial set to follow Trump’s impeachment, which included charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. In other words — Pelosi’s delay has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of Democratic sense that they “have no case.” It’s the Republicans.
A few Democrats did peel away when the final impeachment vote unfolded, but that was just about nothing compared to the around 230 members of Congress who united to condemn the president in the face of lockstep political marching from members of the GOP. Trump supporters in Congress even compared the impeachment to the trial of Jesus, who was crucified, and the World War II-era Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Talk about egomania! They’re displaying a complete unwillingness to engage with the facts of the Democrats’ case.
