There is a way in which things are supposed to happen in American government, but the current president of the United States is showing no respect for those checks and balances that keep America from becoming a dictatorship. Trump just wants what Trump wants and literally nothing will stop him from doing whatever he can to win the 2020 election, even murder.
After news broke of Trump’s assassination of Gen. Qassem Suleimani of Iran, politicians like Nancy Pelosi immediately spoke up to call out Trump for ignoring those checks and balances when he failed to alert Congress that he was planning to take out the prominent Middle East military staple.
Now, we’ve learned that the president informed a separate foreign government instead of informing Congress, and that foreign government just so happened to want Suleimani dead as well.
According to reports out Friday afternoon, Israeli journalist Barak Ravid said during a broadcast: “Our assessment is that the United States informed Israel about this operation in Iraq, apparently a few days ago,” when those with even the highest security clearance in America knew nothing of the ominous attack.
The Los Angeles Times reported that an:
“Israeli army officer with knowledge of Israeli military assessments, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he did not have permission to speak to reporters,” said that the attack that killed Suleimani “did not come as a surprise.”
Mike Pompeo himself said on Twitter that he’d informed yet another foreign entity to prepare them for the attack:
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and I discussed the decisive defensive action @realDonaldTrump employed in Baghdad to protect American lives. I emphasized that de-escalation is the United States’ principal goal.

The LA Times report continued:
Dolann Abu Saleh, the mayor of Majdal Shams, the city at the base of Mt. Hermon in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, said he was awakened by an Israeli army division commander at 6:45 a.m., shortly after after the hit on Suleimani.
Along with other local officials, he was told to heighten preparations in anticipation of possible local repercussions.
Trump’s pal, Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu gave the following statement to the press about the attack:
“Qassem Suleimani is responsible for the death of American citizens and many other innocent people. He was planning more such attacks. President Trump deserves all the credit for acting swiftly, forcefully and decisively. Israel stands with the United States in its just struggle for peace, security and self-defense.”
A parliamentarian from the majority Arab Joint List party tweeted the following warning for the war-mongers on Twitter celebrating this move:
People responding to Pompeo’s tweet were pissed off that Trump had done such a thing, and without permission. Below are the top comments left on his post:
