Mar-a-Lago Guests Get Secret Military Strike Info Before Public

Early Friday morning Iraqi time, U.S. air strikes killed top Iran military commander, General Qassem Soleimani, at Baghdad international airport in Iraq. This was at the direction of Mr. Trump and the Pentagon. Trump did not inform Congress prior to the attack.

However, it has been reported that he dropped hints to close associates at Mar-a-Lago that something huge was coming in the five days prior to the attack. The Daily Beast reported:

‘According to three people who’ve been at the president’s Palm Beach Club over the past several days, Trump began telling friends and allies hanging at his perennial vacation getaway that he was working on a “big” response to the Iranian regime that they would hearing or “reading” about very “soon.”‘

According to The Daily Beast:

‘His New Year’s Eve tweet he sent out warning of the “big price” Iran would pay for damage to U.S. facilities. Two of these sources tell The Daily Beast that the president specifically mentioned he’d been in close contact with his top national-security and military advisers on gaming out options for an aggressive action that could quickly materialize.’

One source recalled a conversation with Mr. Trump just days before the strike:

‘He kept saying “You’ll see.”‘

After the strike, Trump administration officials argued that that it wasn’t an act of aggression but was instead designed to “advance the cause of peace.”

It is clear that Mar-a-Lago guests received more notice about the attack than Senate staff did. The State Department, Pentagon, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence all continue to claim that killing Soleimani was designed to block Iranian plans to kill “hundreds” or even thousands of Americans in the Middle East.
