As the nation and world continue to grapple with his insistence on escalating tension with Iran, President Donald Trump keeps turning to Twitter as if he’s just trying to drive us all up the wall because of his dangerously bumbling incompetence. This Monday, he screamed out another all-caps, confrontational message about Iran that seems indicative of his personal ego’s stake in the situation as much as it depicts any kind of remotely “presidential” concern for the national security of the U.S. After ranting about his impeachment, he asserted that Iran will, at least on his watch, supposedly never have a nuclear weapon.
He posted:

There was a deal to keep that from happening, but Trump (metaphorically) ripped it up. The tweet comes after Iran indicated that they would completely abandon that nuclear deal that they signed with a group of countries including the United States in 2015. They made that announcement on Sunday U.S. time, but perhaps the president just now heard of it. After Trump abruptly withdrew from the deal, Iran had already begun inching up their uranium work while holding out apparent hope of a deal with European countries that had also signed onto the deal — but that salvage deal seems to be unlikely.
His latest antagonistic threatening rant about Iran comes after he spouted off that Congress should supposedly completely abandon their impeachment case against him. The case is set to head to a trial in the Senate soon. In the meantime, he ranted:
‘Congress & the President should not be wasting their time and energy on a continuation of the totally partisan Impeachment Hoax when we have so many important matters pending. 196 to ZERO was the Republican House vote, & we got 3 Dems. This was not what the Founders had in mind!’

Actually, the Founders didn’t have in mind providing for a president who literally personally makes money off the presidency and, in his actual job responsibilities, suckers up to murderous dictators and seeks to bend the policies of other countries to his will. Trump’s claim to the contrary joins a long list of Republican excuses.
