WaPo Busts Liz Warren In Blatant Lie About Bernie Sanders

Elizabeth Warren has been accused of being disingenuous on more than one occasion. There was the regrettable claim that she was Native American because he papaw said so, a statement that gave the president ammunition he still uses against her. And you may remember the cringe-worthy video Warren released out of her own home in which she’s holding a beer and clearly acting it up when her husband comes into frame.

Aside from those faux pas, Warren has now been busted lying about her number one competitor in the 2020 presidential race, Bernie Sanders. Warren claims that, in a private meeting in 2018, Bernie disagreed with her that a woman could be elected president.

Warren tried to cover her tail Monday night, releasing the following statement after the media caught wind of the sham:

“I thought a woman could win; he disagreed. I have no interest in discussing this private meeting any further because Bernie and I have far more in common than our differences on punditry.”

Now, if you know anything about Bernie’s history in politics, you’d know that he’s made multiple statements about women leading the country, and even encourages young girls to aspire to the highest office in the nation.

Washington Post got ahold of some other people who were also in this private meeting, and their recollection of Sanders’ words are a stark contrast to Warren’s delusions. According to WaPo’s report:

The question of whether a woman could be elected president in the United States was fueled by a CNN report that cited sources saying Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) had told Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) that a woman could not win the White House in 2020.

Sanders heatedly denied the report, which his campaign manager Faiz Shakir told CNN was “a lie.”

Bernie himself responded to the wild claims, essentially calling Warren a liar. This is what Bernie told the press:

“It is ludicrous to believe that at the same meeting where Elizabeth Warren told me she was going to run for president, I would tell her that a woman couldn’t win.”

Sanders continued:

“What I did say that night was that Donald Trump is a sexist, a racist and a liar who would weaponize whatever he could. Do I believe a woman can win in 2020? Of course! After all Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump by 3 million votes in 2016.”

According to The Post, other people who were present at the time of the meeting say that Bernie Sanders never said anything like that, which means that Elizabeth Warren is so desperate to beat the only candidate worthy of the title of president that she was willing to fabricate an entire conversation.

The Post reports that:

Warren has long ridden the coattails of Sanders, adopting then slightly revising ideas Bernie has been talking about for decades, so it only makes sense that she would try to smear his character to win.

What’s really screwed up about all of this is that Bernie Sanders actually encouraged Warren to run in 2016. A fact that Warren is hoping people forget.
