As his impeachment trial continues this weekend — this time with his own defense team giving their rebuttal arguments — President Donald Trump is freaking out. This Saturday morning, he spouted off on Twitter against a list of prominent Democrats including New York’s Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who he called “dumb as a rock.” It’s not like Ocasio-Cortez has had any role in the impeachment trial (she’s not among the impeachment case managers), so what’s happening here is the president of the United States is spending his mornings cultivating an angry grudge against a prominent woman of color in Congress who happened to oppose him at one point.
He tweeted:

Again — Ocasio-Cortez has no public role in the impeachment trial, so what exactly sparked this angry meltdown from the president? Who knows. It seems like the mere existence of his opponents is enough to set him off, which is not exactly reassuring considering that — for now — Trump is the one in charge of U.S. military force, among other troubling implications.
As he did manage to correctly indicate, on Saturday morning, his legal team was set to deliver the first few hours of their own opening arguments following three days of arguments from the House’s impeachment case managers, who are functioning like the prosecution in this case.
Trump complained about his lawyers getting relegated to the supposed dismal television timeslot of early Saturday. The case managers bringing this impeachment case against him have already had their own remarks take off across the internet repeatedly.
At one point, House Intel Committee chairman and case manager Adam Schiff (D) insisted:
‘Donald Trump must be convicted and removed from office. Because he will always choose his own personal interest over our national interest. Because in America, right matters. Truth matters. If not, no Constitution can protect us. If not, we are lost.’
And the best Trump’s got in response are these petty insults.
