After three days of Democrats presenting their case against him in his Senate impeachment trial, President Donald Trump sounds wildly desperate. This Saturday morning on Twitter, when his own defense team was set to begin their response, he resorted to tweeting outlandish praise for himself that he apparently heard on Lou Dobbs’s show on Fox. Who sits around tweeting out that other people called them “historic” and “courageous”? The best that the president has got in response to the Democratic case against him is this raging narcissism.
The quotes that Trump tweeted aren’t even accurate. Dobbs resorted to the same outlandish line that earned Trump literal laughs at the United Nations, claiming — to Trump’s apparent passionate approval — that no one has done more for the U.S. than he has.
Trump tweeted:
‘The Great @LouDobbs : “People know, after 3 years of this President, the most historic President in our Country’s history, that there is no one who can touch what he’s done in 3 years… it is really something to have a man in the White House who has a courageous heart and does what he says he will do.’

That is just grossly egomaniacal. A “courageous heart”? So now, are they attributing some kind of moral greatness to Trump’s love of publicly spouting off against his opponents? What a terrible excuse for a president.
Trump continued with another quote, this time from Pastor Robert Jeffress, who said:
‘I like President Trump’s Tweets (Social Media), I like everything about him… he is fulfilling every promise he made, and that is making his opponents apoplectic. They’re trying to get him out of office, and they’re not going to succeed.’
Ever? Jeffress is aware of the term limits imposed on the presidency, right, no matter what happens this November?
Trump also babbled on against “lyin’, cheatin’, liddle’ Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, Nervous Nancy Pelosi, their leader, dumb as a rock AOC, & the entire Radical Left.” He’s a desperate wreck.
