GOP’r Defects Over Trump’s Impeachment Trial Obstruction

Trump and his loyal Republicans have been attempting to steer the impeachment narrative in any direction that will keep the president in office, and the only way to do that is to obstruct justice by blocking witnesses to the president’s abuse of power from ever testifying against Trump. It seemed as though it was working, until today.

A spokesperson for former presidential candidate Mitt Romney said that Romney would, in fact, vote to hear the witnesses, especially John Bolton, who recently dropped an information bomb on the White House.

Liz Johnson said this via her Twitter page Friday morning:

For those asking: As @SenatorRomney has said, he wants to hear from Ambassador Bolton, and he will vote in favor of the motion today to consider witnesses.

As we reported earlier, the White House has formally threatened John Bolton to stop publication of his book after the manuscript was given to Trump, and then photocopied by a White House employee.

Donald Trump and his administration of criminals and crooks are doing absolutely everything they can to silence the witnesses involved in his attempt to extort Ukraine into fabricating dirt on Joe Biden, The DNC, and Democrats in power. They thought they had done everything they could, but what they didn’t anticipate was one of the witnesses writing a book detailing the criminal behavior of the president of the United States.

According to CNN:

The White House has issued a formal threat to former national security adviser John Bolton to keep him from publishing his book, “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir,” sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.

The White House had no comment. Neither Bolton nor a spokesman for the publisher, Simon & Schuster, responded to a request for comment.

The president flipped out on Twitter that entire morning over the revelations in Bolton’s book, and from the wording of the tweets, Trump seems to know exactly what’s in that book. This is what he said:

CNN continues:

The letter comes in the midst of President Donald Trump attacking Bolton on Twitter, and Bolton’s lawyer accusing the White House of corrupting the vetting process for Bolton’s book by sharing the contents of the book with those outside the National Security Council’s Records Management Division.

NY Times reports that:

President Trump told his national security adviser in August that he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped with investigations into Democrats including the Bidens, according to an unpublished manuscript by the former adviser, John R. Bolton.

The threat from the White House makes sense now. Trump was already in deep with the Ukraine scandal, but with a name like John Bolton saying that he definitely tried to extort Ukraine, effectively abusing his power as president, Trump knows that this will be a certain end to his reign as ruler of this Democracy.

The Times continues:

The president’s statement as described by Mr. Bolton could undercut a key element of his impeachment defense: that the holdup in aid was separate from Mr. Trump’s requests that Ukraine announce investigations into his perceived enemies, including former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and his son Hunter Biden, who had worked for a Ukrainian energy firm while his father was in office.

People on Twitter are proud of Romney for finally taking a stand against Trump, although, many people are wondering if Romney will change his mind again before the vote, as he seems to do pretty regularly when it comes to Trump.
