Clint Eastwood is a longtime Republican and a staunch Obama-hater with a temperament that seems to be driven only by race. He backs the GOP one hundred percent without even flinching, and it never dawned on anyone that he could ever choose morality over party after the targeting of America’s first black president that was preceded and proceeded by near political silence.
You heard it right. Clint Eastwood just turned on Mr. Trump to endorse NY’s Mike Bloomberg for president. Now, not only does this say a lot about both Mr. Eastwood and Mr. Trump, but it also speaks volumes of the kind of “liberal” that Mike Bloomberg really is.
Eastwood just said this to the Wall Street Journal:
“The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there.”
NBC reports that:
After endorsing Mitt Romney and famously delivering a speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention to an empty chair that represented Barack Obama, Eastwood never officially backed Trump. In a 2016 interview, he expressed displeasure with Trump and Hillary Clinton, saying there’s “much funny business on both sides of the aisle.”
He praised Trump at the time because he was “onto something” and “secretly everybody’s getting tired of political correctness, kissing up.”
Eastwood made headlines when he said this about younger generations of Americans, which to him is everyone without one foot in the grave:
“We’re really in a p—- generation. Everybody’s walking on eggshells. We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff. When I grew up, those things weren’t called racist.”
