Trump Appoints One Of His Supporters To Intel Community

Donald Trump is known for hiring people with no experience to high levels of government, making the nation less and less safe as the seconds tick by. He has his son-in-law working on peace relations in the Middle East, and if that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about Trump’s strategy for America, this will.

Mr. Trump just appointed one of his longtime loyalists to a position in the intelligence community.

According to Reuters:

President Donald Trump said on Sunday he is looking for a new ambassador to Germany after tapping current diplomat Richard Grenell to serve as acting U.S. intelligence chief.

“I’ll be appointing an ambassador to Germany,” Trump told reporters at the White House before departing on a trip to India.

Democrats have been warning that Trump is going to make moves to interfere with America’s ability to stop Russia from interfering in the 2020 election. Nancy Pelosi said this upon hearing of the appointment:

“It would be like sending me in for brain surgery, to do brain surgery on somebody. What?! Just doesn’t know the territory. And it’s very important territory. So what the president did is dangerous.”

Pelosi continued:

“American voters should decide American elections — notVladimir Putin. All Members of Congress should condemn the President’s reported efforts to dismiss threats to the integrity of our democracy & to politicize our intel community.”

And Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) told MSNBC said this about it:

“Richard Grenell is basically an internet troll. He’s a loyalist to the president and he is not qualified to hold this position even for a single day. The president has installed on a temporary basis someone that is loyal to him. We need someone that is loyal to our country.”

Senator Mark Werner also rebuked the decision:

“It appears the President has selected an individual *without any intelligence experience* to serve as the leader of the nation’s intelligence community in an acting capacity.”
