Obama Outshines Trump After Don Ignores Death Of Black Legend

On Monday, we lost a very important part of black history in America after it was announced that hidden figure legend Katherine Johnson passed away at age 101. Johnson worked with NASA as a mathematician during the race to the moon in the 1960’s. Her calculations were critical in leading the first man to the moon, and many others who went after him.

Not one word of tribute from Mr. Trump so far Monday, but one person who can always be counted on is President Obama, who tweeted the following message about Johnson via his Twitter page:

After a lifetime of reaching for the stars, today, Katherine Johnson landed among them. She spent decades as a hidden figure, breaking barriers behind the scenes. But by the end of her life, she had become a hero to millions—including Michelle and me.

As Obama remembered hanging a medal around Johnson’s neck, people on Twitter were quick to call out the clear lack of compassion that the current leader of the country demonstrates. Trump hasn’t said a word about Black History Month, so it’s no surprise that he would ignore the death of a legend of color like Johnson, but people were angry nonetheless.
