The ultra-conservative Project Veritas has been unearthed as a shady video-producing gotcha group. It is like the old television show Candid Camera only instead of bringing happiness, it produces a twisted perversion of reality. Once again, it has struck a news organization.
According to the fact-checking site Snopes, Project Veritas took its cameras into ABC News. Snopes wrote this about the “gish gallop.” That tactic will have tried to drown out the other side of any group or organization by flooding them with weak arguments. This so-caled “sting organization activist group” used disguises and hidden cameras to uncover supposed liberal bias and corruption.” Founder James. O’Keefe’s team is known for producing “deceptive heavily-edited videos.”
O’Keefe killed off ACORN, an organization that was a major source of black voter registration. It also tried to take down Planned Parenthood and failed. Snopes wrote this about the “gish gallop.” That tactic has tried to drown out the other side by flooding them with weak arguments. This “sting” organization activist group makes use of “disguises and hidden cameras to uncover supposed liberal bias and corruption.”
Founder James. O’Keefe’s organization has been known for producing deceptive heavily-edited videos:
‘The videos are, as is typical of O’Keefe’s, work somewhat of a gish gallop, comprising a constellation of allegations and assertions that is virtually impossible to fact check without complete clips of the involved conversations. Nearly all the videos used stitched-together, out-of-context remarks with no indication of what occurred or what was discussed just before and after the included portions.’
ABC News suspended Wright “for unguarded remarks” Project Veritas caught with a hidden camera. The extreme group has methodically tried to hit many different mainstream media, according to The Washington Post.
Wright, 56, reported for “World News Tonight, Good Morning America, and Nightline.” ABC officials went over the reporter’s footage.
O’Keefe tweeted that he exposed ABC News for bias:
‘[Project Veritas] will expose ABC News’ agenda to mislead voters and push their own narratives.’
Wright joined ABC almost 20 years ago. His beat included the White House. He was also:
‘Nightline’s lead political reporter during the 2016 presidential campaign. He has also periodically reported from the Middle East and Europe, including covering the Notre Dame cathedral fire in Paris last year. He shared a 2004 Emmy Award for his reporting from Iraq and shared a Peabody Award for reporting in Afghanistan after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.’
The way that Project Veritas operates its stings:
‘O’keepfe’s 2009 “sting” in which he and accomplice Hannah Giles visited ACORN offices and pretended to be seeking advice on how to run an illegal business that included the use of underage girls in the sex trade. The resulting videos — which were edited to create the impression that O’Keefe and Giles had spoken to ACORN representatives while dressed as a pimp and prostitute — dealt that organization a mortal blow before reports publicizing the deception in O’Keefe’s videos came to light.’
