Obama Demands Trump Ads Be Taken Off TV

President Obama usually keeps to himself. While he is attacked endlessly by right-wingers and Donald Trump himself, Obama remains steadfast in his efforts to take the higher ground. Obama always comes out on top, and he rarely finds something personal that will make him go to the media to speak out against it.

This has done it though. Mr Trump currently has ads running on various channels, and according to Obama, they contain a lie about him and Joe Biden.

According to POLITICO:

Former President Barack Obama is sending a cease-and-desist letter to South Carolina TV stations demanding they not air a Republican ad that misuses his words to attack his former vice president, Joe Biden.

The Committee to Defend the President super PAC’s ad, which began airing Tuesday as part of a $250,000 media buy, is the latest in a string of Republican efforts designed to torpedo Biden in an effort to keep him from facing President Donald Trump.

This is not the first time Trump has used race to try to smear Joe Biden in ad campaigns. He did it in Nevada, but those ads appealed to hispanics worried about immigration issues. Now, Obama claims that Trump’s current ads are aimed at the black community.

According to the letter, the video approved by Trump sliced his words out of context to make it look like he is calling Joe Biden a racist.

Pathetic, right?

Obama’s communications director Katie Hill gave the following written statement:

“This despicable ad is straight out of the Republican disinformation playbook, and it’s clearly designed to suppress turnout among minority voters in South Carolina by taking President Obama’s voice out of context and twisting his words to mislead viewers. In the interest of truth in advertising, we are calling on TV stations to take this ad down and stop playing into the hands of bad actors who seek to sow division and confusion among the electorate.”

The report continued:

Hill said the law firm of Perkins Coie is drafting a letter demanding stations pull the ad.

For the Biden campaign, the ad is a reminder that Trump’s campaign and his allies don’t want to face him.

Trump‘s impeachment was rooted in the president’s attempt to pressure Ukraine’s government into investigating Biden and his son.

Trump’s camp is trying to make Americans believe that they actually want Bernie Sanders to be the nominee because, according to them, he would be easier to beat than anyone else. The truth of the matter is they are terrified of Bernie getting the nomination, and are only pretending to support Sanders.

The sad thing is, this rhetoric is actually working on a lot of Democrats who have been unwittingly pitted against Bernie.

If they continue to fight it, they WILL reelect Trump.
