Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren weren’t exactly pals on the campaign trail, but the two candidates have more in common than any other pair running for the presidency. The two clashed when Warren accused Bernie of making a sexist statement that Bernie, and others in the room, say never happened.
They faced-off at the next debate shortly after that, and things got awkward when Warren went after Sanders on camera, refusing to shake his hand. That led to Bernie wagging his finger at Warren is disbelief.
Warren ended her campaign Wednesday morning, and even thought Bernie Sanders is the only candidate with a negative personal history with Warren, he offered her a parting message that makes you understand why Sanders is so popular.
This is what Bernie said on Twitter:
Sen. Warren has run an extraordinary campaign of ideas – demanding that the wealthy pay their fair share, ending corruption in Washington, guaranteeing health care for all, addressing climate change, tackling the student debt crisis and vigorously protecting women's rights.

.@ewarren has taken on the most powerful corporate interests because she cares about those who have been left behind. Without her, the progressive movement would not be nearly as strong as it is today. I know that she’ll stay in this fight and we are grateful that she will.
The Berners on Twitter responded in force to Bernie’s message to Warren, and they liked what they heard. Ever since Warren announced her run for the presidency, progressives have daydreamed of a Sanders/Warren ticket, and apparently, it is now a possibility.
Many of the comments asked Bernie to choose Warren as his VP, and some attacked Bernie for Warren polling so low. Intelligent or incoherent, we saved the top comments for you below:
