The World Health Organization has long been responsible for education the citizens of this planet about how best to stay healthy in a world full of pathogens. The coronavirus has been steadily making is way around earth, leaving a path of devastation and death in its wake. The president of the United States, however, is only worried about one thing. How the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. will affect his chance of being reelected in November.

According to W.H.O. Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus:

“Globally, about 3.4 percent of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1 percent of those infected.”

“We understand that people are afraid and uncertain. Fear is a natural human response to any threat, especially when it’s a threat we don’t completely understand. But as we get more data, we are understanding this virus and the disease it causes more and more.”

Now, Donald Trump is weighing in with his best guesstimation, based on what he sees from the White House bathroom. Trump claims that the World Health Org’s numbers are way off, and that people should not be afraid to go on about their lives, especially when it comes to attending his rallies.

Trump said this Wednesday night during a Fox News interview:

“I think the 3.4 percent is really a false number. Now, this is just a hunch, but based on a lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this.”

“A lot of people will have this and it’s very mild. They’ll get better very rapidly. They don’t even see a doctor. They don’t even call a doctor. You never hear about those people.”

Trump continued:

“Personally, I think the number is way under 1 percent.”
