Donald Trump wants so badly to control the narrative surrounding the deadly COVID-19 pandemic killing people all around the globe, but it’s something he simply hasn’t been able to get a handle on since people keep dropping like flies. Trump knows this creates a really damaging optic for Americans during the 2020 election season, and Trump knows that.
Trump began earlier this year by claiming the virus was nothing more than a hoax by Democrats to discredit him, but quickly had to change that rhetoric when it became abundantly clear that this was not going to be an easy fight.
Trump has been on television every day to brief the nation, making sure that they hear from him mainly. Friday, Trump hijacked the coronavirus press briefing from virologist Anthony Fauci, and what happened next has a lot of people talking.
Check out the video below of Fauci facepalming over Trump’s ignorant remarks below:
The president’s apparent anger on display as he used the derogatory term “Deep State Department” and Dr Fauci reacted by putting his hand over his face. Watch. pic.twitter.com/Ks7j4WciVt

Trump is heard in the video saying:
I’d like him to go back to the state department or as they call it the deep state department, if you don’t mind.
That’s when Fauci catches himself beginning to laugh and puts his hand to his forehead, rubbing it around his face in an attempt tot self-soothe.
According to ABC:
The coronavirus death toll in crisis-hit Italy surpassed China’s for the first time, becoming the first country to do so, as the prime minister announced that a task force of 300 volunteer doctors will be despatched to the worst affected areas of the country.
As of yesterday, the total number of dead in Italy had risen to 3,405, out of a total of 41,035 confirmed cases of coronavirus nationwide, surpassing China’s death toll of 3,249. The news that Italy has become the worst hit country came as the authorities in China reported no new domestic cases, three new deaths and a total of 228 imported cases today, a major milestone in the country’s fight against the pandemic.
