Susan Collins rides the fence between doing the right things and all out insanity, but when it comes to the firing of the Ukraine watchdog who handled the extortion complaint about President Donald Trump, Collins is pretty clear.
This is not okay.
Collins said this about Trump’s decision:
“While I recognize that the President has the authority to appoint and remove Inspectors General, I believe Inspector General Atkinson served the intelligence community and the American people well, and his removal was not warranted.”
Naturally, Trump promises that his intentions behind firing investigator Michael Atkinson were completely pure. He said this about his decision:
“I thought he did a terrible job. Absolutely terrible. He took a whistleblower report, which turned out to be a fake report … and he brought it to Congress with an emergency. Not a big Trump fan, that I can tell you.”
