The United States has been been riding a rudderless ship as the seas of uncertainty have boiled around it. Donald Trump has been taking a wrecking ball to the country’s institutions and manages to cause pain ever deeper and closer to the bone. Now that former Vice President Joe Biden has become the presumptive Democratic candidate for 2020, President Barack Obama has felt free to comment.
The 44th president stepped into the “empathy/leader” vacancy Trump has left as the leader of the free world. People have hungered for a leader as a headless man seeks his head. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has stepped in and carried the country as far as he could. Now, Obama points the country toward Biden to “guide us through one of our darkest times.”
With Obama standing right behind the presidential candidate, the country will be able to come out on the other side and “heal:”
