The Coronavirus pandemic has upended many aspects of American life, including education. Schools all across the U.S. have closed for extended periods, but many educational leaders have worked to keep students involved in education anyway through web-based learning. In conjunction with the Obama Foundation, former President Barack Obama publicly lauded some of these hardworking teachers this week. Obama actually called some teachers working with Chicago Public Schools to thank them personally, and he shared the video on Twitter this week, praising the teachers for their “devotion.”
On ABC interview, Trump blamed Obama for leaving the "cupboard" empty on medical equipment. When asked why didn't you restock then in three years, Trump said "Well, I’ll be honest, I have a lot of things going on.” True, Trump had to tweet and play a record number rounds of golf

He commented:
‘There’s no limit to the devotion I’ve seen in teachers like these @ChiPubSchools educators. Their dedication shapes the best parts of who we become. I couldn’t be more thankful for their work, especially as they shift lessons online to keep students on track during this crisis.’

Illinois is among the hardest hit states in the U.S. amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, which has frequently proven concentrated in the Midwestern and Northeastern areas of the country. Michigan and Illinois are both among the half a dozen states with the currently highest individual numbers of Coronavirus-sparked deaths in the U.S.

As should mostly go without saying at this point, Obama’s work to thank and inspire those on the front lines contrasts dramatically with the behavior that Americans have faced from the White House, as currently led by Donald Trump. President Trump has actually criticized those on the front lines of the crisis. He has, for instance, ludicrously and completely baselessly suggested that medical personnel were hoarding equipment, and separately, his administration has resisted sending additional financial support to local authorities in hard-hit areas. Reportedly, Republican leaders wanted to extort localities into lifting social distancing measures via withholding the funds if the measures remained in place.

It brings tears to my eyes to watch and listen to President Obama. Most days I can't do it because I get too upset. I love and miss him so much. We had it so good and really didn't appreciate him enough. https://t.co/yfhcKNULG6
