Trump Snaps & Tweets Unhinged One Sentence Wednesday Freakout

President Donald Trump continues to unravel under even the slightest pressure over his administration’s fumbled response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Tens of thousands of Americans are dead and projections from sources like the University of Washington suggest that tens of thousands of more deaths from the Coronavirus in the U.S. alone could be just around the corner, but Trump continues to freak out at apparently even the thought of questioning over what he and his administration have done — and more pointedly, not done. This Wednesday morning, seemingly out of the blue, he rushed to Twitter with a new diatribe against “fake news.”

He posted:

‘The Fake News has reached an all time high!’

It’s unclear what particular coverage may have sparked this particular freakout. Trump has consistently contended that coverage of the basic facts of the Coronavirus is some kind of “fake news,” but it’s not. It’s not “fake news” that the U.S. has suffered repeated problems with securing basic supplies like personal protective equipment and Coronavirus tests, although Trump has dismissed the reports as irrelevant.

Recently, Trump even insisted, with no basis whatsoever, that calls for increases to Coronavirus testing capacity in the U.S. are a “false talking point.” They’re not — Dr. Anthony Fauci himself has spoken of the need for the country to dramatically increase its testing capacity in order to give authorities a chance to stem the spread of the virus. Meanwhile, Trump seems to be trying to wish basic facts out of existence in an attempt to bolster his public image.
