President Obama is still working hard behind the scenes to ensure that Donald Trump doesn’t completely ruin the country. Obama has been relatively quiet since leaving the White House because he knew that if he continued to speak out to Americans, he would be accused of stealing Trump’s thunder. Instead, Barack sat back and let Trump dig himself a hole all by himself.
When the coronavirus outbreak made landfall in America, Obama began speaking out more and more as a means of easing the tensions Americans were feeling. But that’s not all he’s upset about, apparently, because a web call was just leaked in which Obama warns that Trump’s DOJ’s move to drop charges against Mike Flynn for lying to the FBI about his involvement with Russia.
According to Yahoo News, Obama said in a newly released audio:
“The news over the last 24 hours I think has been somewhat downplayed — about the Justice Department dropping charges against Michael Flynn.”
President Obama: “The response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty. And it would’ve been bad even with the best of governments. It has been an absolute chaotic disaster.”@Isikoff has the private audio 👇https://t.co/HkXxKXyVOY

“And the fact that there is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free. That’s the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic — not just institutional norms — but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk. And when you start moving in those directions, it can accelerate pretty quickly as we’ve seen in other places.”
Exclusive: Obama, in private talk with ex-aides, says "the rule of law is at risk" in Flynn case and calls Trump response to pandemic an "absolute chaotic disaster." Listen to the tape: https://t.co/HUOXFvPI1m

On Thursday, AG William Barr said this about his decision to drop the charges:
“I’m doing the law’s bidding. I’m doing my duty under the law, as I see it.”
Obama wasn’t done there, though. He continued by saying this about the coronavirus:
“It would have been bad even with the best of governments.”
Coming full circle: Barr does what Trump asked Comey to do back in 2017– let Flynn go.

“It has been an absolute chaotic disaster when that mindset — of ‘what’s in it for me’ and ‘to heck with everybody else’ — when that mindset is operationalized in our government.”
