A black man jogging in an upscale neighborhood offended two men with guns. They had seen him notice an empty house and go inside for a few seconds and left. That was when they determined that they should hunt him down. Then, the father-and-son duo shot and killed Ahmaud Arbery, 25, in February. Little did the two men know that Ahmaud was exercising in his own neighborhood.

The father and son were not arrested until the media caught wind of the event. Many people have been harassed, since Trump took office, They seem to think that the president’s crude language and racist comments gave them coverage.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (D) said Sunday that rhetoric from the White House gives “permission” to people who are “prone to being racist.” Her comments on CNN’s “State of the Union” were in response to questions regarding the shooting.

Bottoms said the circumstances surrounding Arbery’s death are part of a larger issue around the country, according to a report by WS8-TV in Atlanta:

“The rhetoric that we hear coming out of the White House in many ways, I think many who are prone to being racist are given permission to do it in an overt way in a way we wouldn’t [otherwise] see in 2020.’

Then, the mayor noted that if local leadership fails in cities across the country, the Justice Department is supposed to step in and “make sure people are appropriately prosecuted:”

‘But we don’t have that leadership at the top right now. It’s disheartening. I have four kids, three of whom are African-American boys. They are afraid, they are angry.’

‘”Mortified’ Atlanta business owners will not be following “Trump-loving governor’s” order to reopen their places of business.

Video footage showing Arbery’s killing in Georgia was released last week, and the lack of an arrest led to nationwide outrage. Two white men, a father and son, were arrested in association with the shooting after the video went viral.

Bottoms continued on CVV:

‘I think had we not seen that video I don’t think they would be charged . It’s heartbreaking. It’s 2020 and this was a lynching of an African American man.’

Ms. Turner reviewed the coloring book:

‘This book is hilarious. No matter which side of the aisle you stand on you will find humor in this book. I bought two copies, one for my mom and one for my sister. At our Christmas Eve gift exchange they entertained us with their reading of captions. The drawings are fairly intricate but with good lighting and a sharp pencil I was able to complete a page within an hour.
The pages look great when the background designs are colored in pencil and anything you want brought to the foreground is filled in with ink, especially the snarky comments.’

Police arrested Gregory and Travis McMichael last week, three months after Arbery’s death, and accused them of fatally shooting Arbery. Apparently, the McMichaels were reportedly denied bond by a judge Friday.
