Donald Trump makes himself looks stupid a lot. His Twitter account holds many of these memories; a composite of videos and text that make it very clear that The Donald is like no other 73-year old in the world. Trump has shown us that his idiot-streak is nowhere near over this weekend when he shared a video of himself edited into the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day.
In the movie, when Americans are about to deliver a can of whoop-ass to the alien terrorists, the president of the United States, played by actor Bill Pullman, gives an inspiring speech that leads the hostile take-back of our world.
Trump somehow sees himself as Pullman-like, because he just shared the following edited clip from that movie:

The movie made actor Will Smith a literal movie icon, but this one scene in particular stood out, and has been used many times in the years since. It makes sense that Trump would choose such an iconic scene of a fictional president delivering a fake speech, and people on Twitter were loving the ridiculousness of it all.
As some people are laughing at the president’s antics, others are angry that our leader is tweeting edited movie clips while the coronavirus death toll continues to climb.
According to CNN:
New cases per 100,000 people jumped 134% this past week, from nearly seven cases per 100,000 to about 15. The state reported an unusually high two-day spike in tests late last week, according to the COVID Tracking Project, though it’s not clear to what extent that contributed to the spike.State officials intend to intensify testing. Starting next week, all residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, as well as staff members, will be tested, state health department Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon said Thursday.
