A number of leaders emerged out of the disastrous Donald Trump presidency. One of those people is House Intelligence Committee Chair Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) stood head and shoulders above the silent Republicans during the president’s impeachment. On this Memorial Day, which honors the thousands who died for us, Schiff continued to shine.
He tweeted “On this solemn Memorial Day…We are forever in your debt. We salute you:

Donald Trump wormed his way out of serving in the Vietnam War. As far as he was concerned, those who went were losers. Instead, another American young man went in his place. We do not know the fate of that soldier.
In contrast to Schiff, POTUS squeezed out these three words between tweets attacking the Republican North Carolina Roy Cooper for keeping his state closed to crowds, including the Republican National Committee (RNC) where the coronavirus would be sure to spread:
‘HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!’
In mid-April, a Virginia minister defied all of the warnings about religious groups meeting during the coronavirus pandemic. Gerald Glenn vowed to continue service “unless I’m in jail or the hospital,” according to The New York Times. As it turned out, there was a third possibility.
The 66-year-old died from complications of the coronavirus.
