Amidst nationwide protests against police brutality, some demonstrators in Seattle have set up what they’re calling an “autonomous zone,” where there are no police and instead, members of the community itself orchestrate what’s going on. The scene has been peaceful as activists have demanded that policing resources get used for community support instead of state-sponsored police harassment of disadvantaged people. President Donald Trump has responded to the peaceful stand-off by rushing to Twitter to act as though the “autonomous zone” heralds some kind of apocalypse. In an unhinged meltdown on Twitter this Thursday afternoon, he ranted about the “ugly Anarchists” who “just took over Seattle” and seemingly threatened to send in troops.
The “autonomous zone” doesn’t even encompass anywhere near the entire city. It’s just a protest within the Capitol Hill neighborhood, at least as of a recent report about the situation. Nevertheless, Trump has turned his long-established frenzied paranoia against the protesters in Seattle, who seem to be insulting his egomaniacal vision of brutally militarized American “greatness” that is secured through brute force.
Donald Trump, the most cosmopolitan president we’ve probably ever elected—a man who grew up in Queens, NY and lived in Manhattan—has become one of the last federal officials expressing unapologetic reverence for confederate generals.

He tweeted:
‘Anarchists just took over Seattle and the Liberal Democrat Governor just said he knows “nothing about that”. Radical Left Governor @JayInslee and the Mayor of Seattle are being taunted and played at a level that our great Country has never seen before. Take back your city NOW. If you don’t do it, I will. This is not a game. These ugly Anarchists must be stopped IMMEDIATELY. MOVE FAST!’

Trump sounds like he’s living in an imaginary world in which he’s leading some kind of vanguard of true patriotic Americans against an onslaught of evil Anarchist forces. He sounds ridiculously self-deluded and entirely disconnected from the actual reality of the situation — which, again, is peaceful, rather than some kind of hostile “takeover” like Trump insists.
Things President Trump is against:
– changing Confederate names of U.S. Army bases
– removing Confederate statues and monuments
– athletes silently protesting police brutality and racial injustice
– putting Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill

He also complained about a push in Congress to rename military bases that currently feature names of Confederate generals. Why is Trump so dedicated to securing the legacy of the murderous racists of the Confederacy?
He tweeted, using a racist slur against Elizabeth Warren (again):
‘Seriously failed presidential candidate, Senator Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren, just introduced an Amendment on the renaming of many of our legendary Military Bases from which we trained to WIN two World Wars. Hopefully our great Republican Senators won’t fall for this!’

Check out Twitter’s response to his meltdowns below:
Hey COWARD TRUMP…You are a LIAR and a RACIST the whole world knows…you and the mob family will never be welcomed back in to polite society again, you will all be ostracized and reviled. Good luck at living in the USA, russia may be more welcoming …but don't bet on it!! https://t.co/dwSjINQtvc

This raging about Seattle actually makes Trump look weak and deeply pathetic, for a variety of reasons laid out here: https://t.co/9EEOXeLfLQ https://t.co/UpwIo2j3tD

Yeah, I guess we have to act immediately to stop these people peacefully listening to speakers and music.

Raise your hand if you'd feel safer in the #CapitalHillAutonomousZone than in Donald Trump's America. https://t.co/LZAha1uSmJ

This would almost be funny it's so pathetic, except the President of the United States is threatening to order the U.S. military to gun down unarmed civilians in the middle of a city https://t.co/iuPLuacK1L
