Matt Gaetz Slips Up & Suffers Widespread Public Humiliation

Since a huge wave of protests have swept the country and the rest of the world in response to George Floyd’s violent murder by police officers, ex-NFL football player Colin Kaepernick has come back into the spotlight too. Kaepernick sparked a wave of peaceful protests two years ago when players began kneeling during the National Anthem. This was also in response to police brutality and the treatment of people of color by police. At the time, there was a huge backlash against him.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and actor Ron Perlman spent their Sunday feuding over the U.S. Soccer board of directors’ recent vote to repeal a policy that required players to stand for the national anthem. This was in response to weeks of protests in the wake of the police killings of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and other African Americans.

The U.S. Soccer board voted on Wednesday to repeal the policy.

Gaetz tweeted:

Perlman responded saying:

This wasn’t the end of it. Gaetz came back hours later with:

Perlman didn’t stop though. He had an even wiser comeback.

Gaetz didn’t let it rest and tweeted back:

Perlman then asked:

‘Do you think it’s just Hollywood that thinks you’re an asshole?’

The feud between the two continued.

As if Gaetz actually had something to say, he responded with:

In his next tweet, Perlman told Gaetz:

‘A guy who wins a totally gerrymandered district with daddy’s money deserves our deepest admiration.’

Gaetz lashed back:

This wasn’t the first feud between the two. Gaetz and Perlman drew headlines after they exchanged insults back and forth earlier this year.
