Donald Trump’s first rally back on the campaign trail in Tulsa, Oklahoma did not go as expected. After predicting that nearly a million people had requested tickets for an event in an arena that holds around 19,000, seats were empty and a speech planned for the overflow crowd had to be cancelled because there wasn’t one. Less than 6,200 attendees showed up for the event.
Even worse for Trump is that reports say that he lacked energy and the crowd lacked its 2016 enthusiasm. The governor of Oklahoma, Kevin Stitt, who had proclaimed his pride that Trump would choose his city to spread COVID-19 in the middle of a global pandemic, was caught in an embarrassing reaction to Trump’s rally speech.

The wide yawn came at a particularly uncomfortable moment of Trump’s rally speech. As the president droned on for nearly 12 minutes about recent coverage of his seeming inability to raise a glass to his mouth with one hand and a deeply suspicious shuffle caught on tape at the West Point graduation ceremony. To prove that he could do both, Trump walked back and forth and demonstrated drinking a glass of water. That’s the standard for a Trump supporter these days: cheer because he can drink a glass of water.
Gov. Stitt was not the only person in the crowd yawning. Several people were caught on film and in photos yawning during Trump’s speech. Twitter had a big reaction to those embarrassing Trump rally moments. Read some of their comments below:
