President Donald Trump lives in a bizarrely self-obsessed bubble. Amidst numerous national crises, what was he tweeting about this Wednesday morning? Television ratings! He congratulated Fox & Friends for “completely dominating the just released morning TV Ratings,” and in a separate post, he suggested that he himself was to thank for the good television ratings for Fox as a whole. Well over 125,000 Americans have died from the Coronavirus, and the disease is spreading rapidly in some areas of the country — and this nonsense is the president’s priority. Hillary Clinton tweeted on Wednesday that if elected president, Joe Biden would lead where Trump has failed.
She posted:
‘If elected president, you can bet @joebiden will never tweet about his TV ratings.’

With Trump, the self-obsession seems pathological. Early Wednesday, he tweeted:
‘Congratulations to @foxandfriends on completely dominating the just released morning TV Ratings. Morning Joke, staring Psycho Joe Scarborough on MSDNC, a Concast Company, was a disaster. Even worse was the barely registering @CNN mess!’

Trump himself is such a petty mess who’s so wildly unfit for the presidency that he apparently refuses to go even a full sentence without devolving into unhinged insults. The show he’s referring to is called Morning Joe, and it airs on MSNBC, which is a Comcast Company, but Trump evidently thinks he’s so clever to replace all of those actual names with the gobbledygook nicknames in the above tweet. This stunningly inane nonsense is the president’s priority! He’s done it before — when the White House Coronavirus task force held regular press conferences, he glibly tweeted about the television ratings for those press conferences too, although Americans were getting sick and dying from the Coronavirus across the country as the crisis spiraled out of control. Maybe if Trump prioritized something other than ratings, he could have helped avert the catastrophe.
