The president’s niece, Mary Trump, published her all-telling book on Tuesday, despite Trump trying to stop her from spewing what is likely the truth about him. On Friday, he flew on Twitter in another tirade.
Trump spent a good portion of the day ranting about Joe Biden, Mary Trump, and John Bolton. He also randomly announced financial support for the September 11 Memorial in New York City.
Here’s how the rest of Twitter responded:
On Thursday night, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow interviewed Mary Trump about her new book “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man.” Nearly one million copies of the book have already been sold.
During her interview, Maddow asked her if she had ever heard her uncle use the N-word or anti-Semitic slurs, to which she said:
‘Yeah, of course, I did. I don’t think that should surprise anybody given how virulently racist he is today.’
The White House has denied Trump’s use of racial slurs and denied the contents of Mary Trump’s book.
Mary Trump told Vanity Fair that she “had to take Donald down.” She said:
‘The punch of the book, the real symbolic thrust, is about how Donald is really an outgrowth of this complex empire that Fred Sr. built—a pretty dark, win-at-all-costs environment.’
According to Vanity Fair‘s Joe Pompeo:
‘Mary, by all appearances, is a progressive who was shocked and devastated by her uncle’s ascent to the White House. Her Twitter bio reads, “#blacklivesmatter…she/her/hers.” On the night of the 2016 election, she responded to a tweet from progressive journalist Joan Walsh with the following: “This is one of the worst nights of my life. What is wrong with this country? I fear the American experiment has failed.”’
