Recently, federal agents have violently stormed the streets of Portland, where they’ve confronted peaceful protesters in a show of force that the Trump administration has directed but goes against the wishes of local leaders. During a press availability in the Oval Office this Monday, President Donald Trump delusionally threatened to send federal agents into even more cities around the country, although for starters, it’s unclear what legal authority — if any — that the forces who’ve already been deployed in Portland are operating under. Additionally, the idea pushed by Trump and his co-conspirators that American cities are under some kind of siege from protesters is brazenly delusional on its face and does not reflect actual reality.

But reality has never deterred Trump. It seems as though he has — for the moment — transferred some of his delusional, racist paranoia about asylum-seekers from Central America onto peaceful protesters in the U.S.

Early Monday, he self-confidently insisted:

‘I know New York very well, I know the police very well, New York’s finest, and the fact is: they’re restricted from doing anything. They can’t do anything… I’m going to do something, that I can tell you, because we’re not going to let New York, and Chicago, and Philadelphia, and Detroit, and Baltimore, and all of these — Oakland is a mess. We’re not going to let this happen in our country… We’ll have more federal law enforcement, that I can tell you. In Portland, they’ve done a fantastic job. They’ve been there three days, and they really have done a fantastic job in a really short period of time… These are people that hate our country, and we’re not going to let it go forward.’

Again — Trump is delusional. There is no kind of nationwide protest conspiracy perpetrated by “anarchists” who “hate our country.” Watch video of his comments below:

Trump has lately been losing his mind over protesters ever since the latest wave of anti-police brutality protests began in the wake of the Minnesota police murder of a black man named George Floyd. Trump clamored throughout the early days of those protests to send federal forces out into the streets. Although it’s true that there have been isolated instances of rioting, the overwhelming majority of the demonstrations have been peaceful. That’s not stopped Trump from wanting to violently confront American citizens.
