Trump Caught Making Racist Remarks About Nelson Mandela & Obama According To Cohen

President Donald Trump’s former longtime “fixer” Michael Cohen is continuing his campaign against the president. The news has already emerged that he’s writing a book about his experiences working for the eventual president, but now, in a new court filing this week, Cohen’s legal team reveals that some of the details included in that book include a revelation that Trump made “virulently racist” remarks about former President Barack Obama and the late Nelson Mandela, a former president of South Africa.

Cohen’s legal team made the revelation in a Monday court filing seeking his immediate release from prison. He was recently taken back into custody amidst a dispute over the details of his home confinement agreement, and Cohen’s legal team alleges that the apprehension was political retaliation against his plans to quickly finish and publish the book before the upcoming election. Under the Trump administration, the federal justice system has certainly been used for political purposes before. For instance, the Trump-appointed Attorney General Bill Barr has sought to completely drop the case against former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying about his communications with a Russian Ambassador to the United States.

The new court filing from Cohen’s legal team reads, in part:

‘[Cohen] is being held in retaliation for his protected speech, including drafting a book manuscript that is critical of the President – and recently making public his intention to publish that book soon, shortly before the upcoming election.’

It subsequently gets into the details, adding:

‘Mr. Cohen’s book describes Mr. Cohen’s first-hand experiences with Mr. Trump, and it provides graphic details about the President’s behavior behind closed doors. For example, the narrative describes pointedly certain anti-Semitic remarks against prominent Jewish people and virulently racist remarks against such Black leaders as President Barack Obama and Nelson Mandela… Mr. Cohen has also publicly stated that the book will be unfavorable, including descriptions of Mr. Trump – as Mr. Cohen made clear during his Congressional testimony – as ‘a cheat, a liar, a conman, a racist,’ and more.’

The terms of his home confinement that Cohen disputed specifically barred him from publishing a book or otherwise speaking to the media for the foreseeable future. Cohen’s legal team’s new court filing states that authorities were completely aware of his intention to publish an anti-Trump book when he was presented with these terms. The American Civil Liberties Union is backing Cohen’s attempt to be freed from prison. He’d been originally released to home confinement amidst concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus in prisons. Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was recently released from prison for the same reason.

Trump has made his own animosity towards Cohen abundantly clear. For instance, at one point, he tweeted:

Remember, Michael Cohen only became a “Rat” after the FBI did something which was absolutely unthinkable & unheard of until the Witch Hunt was illegally started. They BROKE INTO AN ATTORNEY’S OFFICE! Why didn’t they break into the DNC to get the Server, or Crooked’s office?’

That’s just all nonsense. He’s referring to a search warrant that the FBI deployed against Cohen. Trump’s suggestion that search warrants were “unheard of” is just delusional.
