Kellyanne Conway Sacrifices Remaining Dignity With Mask Meltdown

Kellyanne Conway has a top Republican job. She sits at the knee of Donald Trump as his White House Counsel while juggling four kids and her virulently anti-Trump attorney husband. That means she is not a woman who can be easily pinned to the mat when she appears as the president’s talking head, but one journalist did just.

The White House Counsel to the President was in the middle of training down praise upon the Donald when she was hit by a thunderbolt of silence, during a Martha MacCallum. interview on Fox News Wednesday morning.

Kellyanne was bragging about the president’s “new tone” during his first coronavirus task force briefing in months. We remember that in his last briefing, Trump seriously recommended injecting people’s lungs with household disinfectants and inserting lighting into people’s bodies — well, let him speak for himself. He said, according to The Statesman:

‘A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right?’

POTUS continued:

‘And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful.’

Kellyanne had been revving up to skim over those damning statements. Then, she popped the clutch, flew right over them, and landed in a masked society saying:

‘[A]ll those people out there who are resisting wearing a mask [and you say] you’ll get your liberties back sooner if you wear your mask.’

Then, Kellyanne went into warp speed:

‘I think it was incredibly important for the president of the United States to provide information to the public, not confrontation with some press people there who were asking questions that had nothing to do with the development of vaccines and therapeutics.’

She continued on around the bend without braking, introducing the question about the supposed sex trafficker for Trump’s friend Jeffrey Epstein. Ghislaine Maxwell was a sex trafficker who solicited and groomed girls as young as 14-years-old for Epstein. He allegedly committed suicide by hanging, according to NBC News.

Then, Kellyanne offered up acknowledgment that her boss:

‘[H]e’s met her “numerous times over the years” and “wish her well.” ‘

That was when MacCallum pulled out a fast question of her own. She wanted to know why it took Trump two months to act, which should have been six months ago:

‘But Kellyanne, I guarantee you there are people at home who will listen to that and say, why didn’t the White House have this message for all of us two months ago? Why now? Why wasn’t this pushed and emphasized and encouraged by the president back then when it might have made even more of a difference?’

Conway offered a somewhat-wanting response for Trump’s 360 degrees change, then she quickly pivoted to another subject, a subject covered in another Daily Beast article about the Chris Wallace interview Sunday:

‘The president did say in April if people want to wear a mask, they should wear a mask, early on (said) wouldn’t help.’

After that, Conway got her second breath and divulged that in the Oval Office, Dr. Deborah Birx supposedly sat POTUS down and explained masks to him. Did Kellyanne want people to believe that no one had ever bothered to tell the president about masks? Did he not ever see masks explained during newscasts when he watches up to seven hours a day? That tact certain makes Trump look less than bright.

Then, Conway pointed out that most people were not able to be tested every day as the president is and get some of the “rapid results” tests in the rarified White House air. The counsel continued:

‘We know that the president is COVID-negative, we don’t know that about the rest of the country. So we’re asking people to wear masks.’
