President Donald Trump is continuing to try and undercut the integrity of the upcoming general election, even if he has to resort to outright lies in the process. He has been consistently freaking out over the prospect of a somewhat increased use of mail-in voting during the upcoming elections, claiming that there’s some kind of potential for massive election fraud — which he has zero evidence for. Mail-in voting is already used at a fairly high rate across the country. Nevertheless, this Wednesday, Trump claimed that the upcoming general election in Nevada could take months or years to figure out because of supposed mail-in voting problems, which he has zero evidence for. None.

Again — there is absolutely no evidence for his fundamental claim here. There’s nothing to support the idea that the election will take months or even years to “figure out.” His claim that Nevada has “zero infrastructure for mail-in voting” is, furthermore, a brazen lie. The mail-in voting that would be used in Nevada for this November’s election and the mail-in voting that has been used in Florida in recent elections are the exact same thing. In Florida, you don’t even have to have an “excuse” to vote by mail — pretty much any voter can do so. Trump sounds like he’s trying to sound like he actually knows something about this subject with his reference to needed “infrastructure,” but could he actually name any of the supposed pieces of “infrastructure” that Florida has but Nevada does not? He probably couldn’t.
All Trump has is his paranoia. He seems to be freaking out in the face of his continually dismal poll numbers. As of Wednesday morning, presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden leads Trump in polls on the national level by an average of 7.4 percent, according to RealClearPolitics.
