Among his other problems, President Donald Trump has attracted scrutiny for his apparently ailing physical state. Repeatedly, he’s seemed to struggle with simple physical tasks like walking down a ramp, and some have speculated that he’s just not in great health overall — no matter his nonsense claims about his supposed status as a “stable genius.” The anti-Trump Republican group known as The Lincoln Project has spotlighted Trump’s struggles in a video ad that they reposted to their Twitter account this Thursday morning. In the ad, they showcase an array of clips of Trump’s dubious physical state and insist that “Trump is not well.”

In the ad, a narrator states:

‘Something’s wrong with Donald Trump. He’s shaky, weak, trouble speaking, trouble walking — so why aren’t we talking about this, and why isn’t the press covering Trump’s secret midnight run to Walter Reed Medical Center. Why do so many reporters who cover the White House pretend they can’t see Trump’s decline? The most powerful office in the world needs more than a weak, unfit, shaky president. Trump doesn’t have the strength to lead, nor the character to admit it. We’re not doctors, but we’re not blind. It’s time we talk about this — Trump is not well.’

Notably, the Trump campaign used this very same attack line — spotlighting their opponent’s physical health — when facing Hillary Clinton in 2016. The difference, of course, is that in 2016, Clinton was not exactly in the state that Trump is now (and was then, to be honest). This time around, the Trump campaign has already been complaining about the physical state of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, but Trump and Biden are both in their 70s, and Trump was already the oldest person to be inaugurated as president, revealing — yet again — the Trump campaign as hypocrites, through and through.

The president has also faced speculation about his psychological state. After all, he seems pathologically disconnected from reality, while the Republicans around him seem focused enough on their political careers that they’re willing to give his disconnection from reality a pass. Yet, American lives are consistently put at risk from the president’s incessant lies.
