USPS Employees Defect & Publicly Defy Trump Orders

Is it possible that the highly unqualified Donald Trump crony, newly installed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, left a snail trail as he left the Senate? He testified before the GOP-led Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Friday and is expected to testify before the Democrat-led House Oversight Committee on Monday. Postal workers show that they are more committed to performing their jobs than supporting Trump.

In Washington State, they defied DeJoy by reinstalling the million-dollar-plus high-speed mail sorting machines. Clearly, the postmaster was not attempting to prepare for the November 3rd election mail-in votes. DeJoy told the Senate that he would stop taking down the machines and post-office boxes, but he refused to return all that he has dismantled since he took office.

People watched as flat-bed trucks hauled off dozens of corner blue mailboxes. DeJoy also managed to weasel-word himself about ending overtime. Instead, Veterans’ prescriptions were delayed. Businesses’ order sat idle, and in some cases, bills and other mail piled up in loose boxes.

It only made sense to reinstall the high-speed machines after 40 percent in the Seattle-Tacoma were taken down, eight of its 18 machines, according to The Forbes magazine. The Wenatchee, WA machines were also reinstalled. The USPS Director of Maintenance Kevin Couch expressly forbade that action.

In addition, one Dallas area facility also ignored the orders and reinstalled its high-speed machines.

Of course, Americans have been concerned about the upcoming election. Officials expect a far larger number of mail-in votes due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result of DeJoy carrying out Trump’s wishes to corrupt the USPS and to win at any cost, the Post Office has become endangered.

DeJoy had notified 46 states that he could not “guarantee that ballots mailed before Election Day would arrive in time.” Indeed, Trump told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo that he was trying to make it more difficult to process votes.

Representative James Corner (R-KY) released this statement, NBC News reported:

‘Postmaster General DeJoy has nothing to be ashamed of. He rightfully took action to improve its efficiency and operations to better serve the American people.’

The president has been abusing power far beyond the Executive Branch. America was set up with three co-equal branches, which should have served as a check against such overreach. However, Attorney General William Barr and Senate Leader “Moscow” Mitch McConnell have abdicated their duty.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the Oversight Committee Chair Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) sent DeJoy a letter with 173 House Democratic representatives’ signatures:

‘[The House decried the] implementing of polices that accelerate the crisis at the Postal Service.’

Twitter world was irate after Trump tried to take down the Post Office. Take a look at what they said:
