Why do the Senate Republicans remain silent as Donald Trump commits ever more vicious acts in a descending rapids of unbelievability. Some think that the Republicans are afraid of a Twitter attack from POTUS to knock them out of office. Others believe this is their way of waiting out the term of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “useful idiot.” Or are Republicans simply cowards?

The Republican National Convention (RNC) did not get off to a good start. A full 27 prominent Republicans announced they were endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. Indeed, the Democrats have strategized to create a “wide-ranging” coalition to defeat Donald Trump.

Former Senator Jeff Flake was among most distinguished members to sign on. He was one of the Republican legislators to leave office under Donald Trump’s reign. The Arizona legislator started off in the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013. Then, he ran for and was elected to the Senate from 2013 through 2019.

Flake will be holding a press briefing to explain this latest move. Other senators to join Flake included Charlie Dent (R-PA), John Warner (R-VA), Ray LaHood (R-IL), and Gordon Humphrey (R-NH).

The Biden Campaign released an announcement, according to an Fox News exclusive:

‘These former members of Congress cited Trump’s corruption, destruction of democracy, blatant disregard for moral decency, and urgent need to get the country back on course as a reason why they support Biden.’

Trump Campaign spokesperson Tim Murtaugh said:

‘President Trump has unprecedented support – over 95 percent – among real Republican voters and is also making strong inroads in Biden’s core Democrat constituencies, like Black Americans, Latinos, and union members.’

Then, there were the former Republican governors. These two not only endorsed Biden, they spoke at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). John Kasich (R-OH) and Christine Todd Whitman (R-NJ).

Thirteen percent of American voters said that they could go either for Biden or Trump, because they have not decided yet, according to the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. The Biden campaign has been seeking out every vote and will continue to pursue these voters. This campaign plan was two-pronged: attracting additional registered Democrats and also attracting dissatisfied Republicans.

The 43 Alumni for Biden PAC was formed in July by a group of former Cabinet secretaries and White House officials under the President George W. Bush administration. Its goal was established to elect the 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and oust Trump.

The Lincoln Project was also formed by formed   Republicans or relapsed Republicans with the sole goal of ejecting the sitting president from office. It quickly accumulated two million Twitter followers. Its website said: The founders of The Lincoln Project have spent over 200 years electing Republicans:”

‘But now, they’ve sparked a nationwide movement with a singular mission: To defeat Donald Trump and Trumpism. These former members of Congress are supporting Joe Biden because they know what’s at stake in this election and that Trump’s failures as president have superseded partisanship.’

Other Republicans who joined Flake, Dent, Warner, LaHood, and Humphrey were also reported in The Forbes magazine:

‘Former Representatives Steve Bartlett (R-TX), Bill Clinger (R-PA), Susan Molinari (R-NY), Tom Coleman (R-MO), Charles Djou (R-HI), Mickey Edwards (R-OK), Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD), Jim Greenwood (R-PA), Bob Inglis (R-SC), Jim Kolbe (R-AZ), Steve Kuykendall (R-CA), Jim Leach (R-IA), Connie Morella (R-MD), Mike Parker (R-MS), Jack Quinn (R-NY), Claudine Schneider (R-RI), Chris Shays (R-CT), Peter Smith (R-VT), Alan Steelman (R-TX), Bill Whitehurst (R-VA), Dick Zimmer (R-NJ), and Jim Walsh (R-NY).’
