Donald Trump continues to rant about Democratic mayors in cities where protests continue in the streets have shunned his offers of “help,” which includes sending in federal agents in unmarked vans to abduct the people protesting, but much of the violence happening has been stoked to the breaking point by Trump himself.

Democratic Mayor Ted Wheeler gave a press conference on Sunday following the shooting of a man in a hat identifying him as a right-wing Patriot Prayer member. While there is video, there is really no other information about the shooter known at this time, although that hasn’t stopped the speculation and accusations from the right, or from President Trump. Wheeler called him out on his calls for violence, saying Trump is doing nothing but making things worse.

While he said that Trump supporters have every right to come into the city and peacefully demonstrate, that isn’t what has been happening when those groups come. Wheeler pointed that out, saying:

‘It is you who have created the hate and the division… What America needs is for you to be stopped.’

Of course, instead of looking for solutions and ways to work together on these issues, Trump has spent weeks on Twitter criticizing Wheeler and mayors in cities where peaceful protests have experienced moments of violence. Trump’s “help” has done little more than punish the peaceful protesters and inflame passions even higher, and it’s understandable that no mayor would want Trump stepping in and making the colossal mess he always does.

Twitter responded in full force to Trump’s meltdown. Read some of their comments below:
