Governor Cuomo Emasculates Trump Over Morning Hissy-Fit

Well, it is official. Donald Trump declared war on America. He says that it is a war between Republicans and Democrats, but that is wrong. He only wants to use white nationalists to go to the front line and die. You see, Trump does not care whether 187,070 or three million coronavirus-pandemic-struck Americans die as he steps over their bleeding bodies to reach the White House in November. Not to worry though, a very powerful and very intelligent man just took POTUS on.

Trump just released a White House emo that ordered all federal agencies to analyze which funds the president could reroute away from “lawless” and “anarchist jurisdictions” in Democratically-led cities. Never mind that the House, not the Executive Branch, controls the distribution of federal funds.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has had it with this piece of POTUS. Trump left New York and every other city out to dry when he abdicated all responsibility to the individual governors. It got worse. The governors had to bring in shipments of medical PPE (personal protective equipment) secretly, because 45 would intercept and abscond all of it.

Cuomo took the worst outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and took it down to a one percent rate. World-renowned expert on virology Dr. Anthony Fauci said that a 10 percent rate was good. But Trump’s latest memo sent the New York governor into defense/offense mode.

Trump’s memo mentioned NYC, Washington DC, Seattle, and Portland. The New York Post reported that he said these cities:

‘[P]ermitted violence and the destruction of property to persist and have refused to undertake reasonable measures.”

The governor said that the orange man “better have an army” to make sure he stayed safe in New York City:

‘It’s cheap, it’s political, it’s gratuitous, and it’s illegal.’

‘He can’t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City. Forget bodyguards. He better have an army if he thinks he’s going to walk down the street in New York. New Yorkers don’t want to have anything to do with him.’

White police murdered the gentle giant, a Black man, George Floyd in the spring. Then, NYC’s murder rate reacted and spiked at 59 percent in July. At the same time, the City Council cut the NYPD budget by one billion dollars. The city receives seven billion dollars in federal funding, but with all the COVID-19 expenses, they need far more not less money.

Trump wrote in his memo”

‘To ensure that Federal funds are neither unduly wasted nor spent in a manner that directly violates our Government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property, it is imperative that the Federal Government review the use of Federal funds by jurisdictions that permit anarchy, violence, and destruction in America’s cities.’

‘In light of this unconscionable rise in violence, I have offered to provide Federal law enforcement assistance, but both Mayor de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo have rejected my offer.’

Cuomo said:

‘From the point of view of New York City, [Trump] has been the worst president. President Ford said drop dead. President Trump has been actively trying to kill New York City ever since he was elected.’

One of the governor’s senior advisor later clarified what the governor meant. Cuomo was speaking in hyperbole to make his point:

‘[Trump is] persona non grata after everything he did to his now abandoned home town.’

New York City, Washington, DC, Seattle, and Portland are initial targets as Trump makes “law and order” aka “lawlessness and wild disorder” his motto:

‘My Administration will not allow Federal tax dollars to fund cities that allow themselves to deteriorate into lawless zones. To ensure that Federal funds are neither unduly wasted nor spent in a manner that directly violates our Government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property, it is imperative that the Federal Government review the use of Federal funds by jurisdictions that permit anarchy, violence, and destruction in America’s cities.’

The amount of money impacted by Trump’s order could be massive. New York City, for example, gets about $7 billion a year in federal aid.

The memo said that “in New York City, city officials have allowed violence to spike:”

‘In light of this unconscionable rise in violence, I have offered to provide Federal law enforcement assistance, but both Mayor de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo have rejected my offer.’

‘While violence has surged, arrests have plummeted. In a 28-day period during the months of June and July, [New York City] arrests were down 62 percent from the same period in 2019. Amidst the rising violence, Mayor Bill de Blasio and the New York City Council agreed to cut one billion dollars from the New York Police Department (NYPD) budget, including by cancelling the hiring of 1,163 officers.’

‘As a result of these State and local government policies, persistent and outrageous acts of violence and destruction have continued unabated in many of America’s cities, such as Portland, Seattle, and New York.’

‘Mayor Muriel Bowser [Washington DC] allowed rioters and anarchists to engage in violence and destruction in late May and early June, requiring me to call in the National Guard to maintain law and order in the Nation’s Capital.’

‘On July 1, Seattle declared the protest zone dismantled.  But such failed leadership continues to harm the people of Seattle as, in recent weeks, rioters have engaged in violence and destruction of property across Seattle, resulting in at least 59 police officers being injured and multiple businesses and vehicles vandalized.’
