The far-right near-rabid politicians have consumed the Republican Party. That leaves the traditional Republicans in a tough spot. What do they do when their party abandons them? Great numbers of these original Republicans have turned to the Democratic candidates. When these Republicans are former national security officials, things get very serious very fast.
Over 56 of those Republicans security officials endorsed Joe Biden on Thursday. They joined the growing number of Republican groups committed to opposing Donald Trump’s re-election bid.
Trump’s former Assistant Secretary for Threat Prevention in the Department of Homeland Security, Elizabeth Neumann warned Republicans that she thinks “he’s extremely dangerous,” according to The U.S. News magazine:
‘He has an inability to clearly condemn white supremacists. He either likes the ambiguity or he’s intentionally endorsing these people. He’s unfit, and I think he’s extremely dangerous.’
Many of them were senior defense and security officials for Presidents Ronald Reagan’s, George H.W. Bush’s, and George W. Bush’s White House administrations. Three of the latest converts were former FBI Assistant Director Greg Brower, former CIA Chief of Staff Larry Pfeiffer, and former Deputy Director of Intelligence Alden Munson.
Former Republican National Security Officials for Biden will begin with full-page newspapers ads Thursday. The group planned to hit seven swing or near-swing states Thursday. These included:
‘Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, and Texas.’
This powerful ad made no bones about depicting the president as unfit for office and failing in his duty to handle the coronavirus pandemic. In the wake of the killer virus, Google Statistical Date showed 207,974 men, women, and children have been lying in their graves rather than finishing their lives.
It pounds how Trump failed all of the American public thrugh negligence and ignorance. As a result, it followed that the country’s economy took a high dive plunge.
In addition The Former Republican National Security Officials for Biden will place a television ad on Fox & Friends. They know that the president watches this show religiously. In the ad, the former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Michael Leiter accused Trump for threatening the national security.
After throwing aside the facts that Trump knew at the beginning of he pandemic, the commander-in-chief attacked his own intelligence officials. He also did his best to break up America’s relationship with our European allies.
Former Assistant Secretary for Threat Prevention in the Department of Homeland Security Elizabeth Neumann, joined the group backing Biden in August. She noted that the president refused to condemn white supremacists whole-heartedlly during the first presidential debate. She said that failure fulling reinforced her national security group’s members’ foundational belief that Trump must be roundly defeated.
It already had 70 members. Seven of them worked directly for Trump. These new converts brought that number to about 130 people who have abandoned the Trump Titanic ship of political fools. They could see it heading for the biggest iceberg in history.
Trump’s campaign people smacked around the Republician crossover groups for Biden and said they were all former disgruntled employees from the administration. He called them “human scum:”
‘[T]rying to take down the duly elected president of the United States.’
This organization joined Republican Voters Against Trump and 43 Alumni for Biden. It included hundreds of George W. Bush officials.
