Michelle Obama Issues Post Debate Rallying-Cry To Americans

The presidential debate that took place this past Tuesday was a disaster thanks to the endless petulant interruptions from President Donald Trump, who repeatedly adamantly refused to let Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden speak without interruption. Trump sounded as though he was pathologically unwilling to even attempt to hold a stable conversation with someone other than one of his closest sycophants — it was a national and international embarrassment. Following the debate, former First Lady Michelle Obama issued a public statement calling on Americans to turn their disgust with Trump into action and vote him out of office.

She commented:

‘If you were turned off by the President’s behavior last night, I feel you. Believe me, I do. But we can’t let him win by tuning out altogether. That’s what he wants. So turn those feelings into action—turn them into votes for my friend, [Joe Biden].’

She added that voting Trump out of office is “the only way we can get out of this chaos and restore some stability to this country,” and she said that observers can “start by reaching out to everyone” they know and making sure that they’re registered to vote so that they can cast their ballots without a hitch as Election Day itself rolls closer.

The former First Lady also insisted that “in this election, we’ve got to vote for Joe in numbers that cannot be denied.” Trump has threatened to reject the election results and refused to commit to ensuring a peaceful transition of power if he loses, insisting that he’ll wait and see what happens before making that determination — but nobody appointed Donald Trump to be the arbiter of democracy! He has used conspiracy theories about supposed fraud problems with mail-in ballots as boosts for his threats against the election, but there is no evidence for his claims of some kind of system-threatening fraud — but he’s working to dupe his supporters into believing in it anyway. At the debate, Trump seemed to endorse physical intimidation of opposing voters, insisting that he is “urging [his] supporters to go in to the polls and watch very carefully, because that’s what has to happen.”
