People have been wondering what Donald Trump will do if he loses. First of all, Democrats should not take a win for Joe Biden-Kamala Harris for granted. There are those individuals who do not respond to polls but will come out to vote for him, his secret sauce. Former Trump campaign manager in 2016 Steve Bannon knows him well. This is what he says.
Trump has a number of informal advisers who have been feeding him propaganda. Bannon is one of those conduits. He says that Trump intends to grab the presidential election on November 3 “as soon as he is ahead,” according to Yahoo.com.
He needs to consider that we no longer have an election day in our country. Now, we have a voting season extending from October through November and, perhaps, beyond. Many state’s counties have sent out the absentee ballots to be mailed or dropped off, and early voting started in increasingly greater numbers. People are aware that every vote counts in this election. They believe their very democracy is at stake.
That means more ballots through the US Postal Service (USPS). It has been handicapped with Trump’s appointed postmaster general trashing the rapid counting machines. The nation will have far more people voting in reaction to the noxious cloud of corruption surrounding this president.
The Republicans have done everything they can to suppress Democratic votes, because their party has been shrinking in size. They use propaganda to deceive voters, such as telling them to vote on the wrong day (after the election), gerrymandering, fake ballot boxes, one ballot box for millions in one county, up to 10-hour waits standing in line to vote, broken or limited voting machines, and armed “watchers” at the voting location just to name a few of their tactics.
Apparently, Trump intends to “claim victory on election night:”
‘At 10 o’clock or 11 o’clock… on November 3, Donald J. Trump is going to walk into the Oval Office, and he may hit a tweet before he goes in there… and he’s going to sit there, having won Ohio, and being up in Pennsylvania and Florida, and he’s going to say, “Hey, game’s over.”‘
Bannon was speaking before an October 10 forum hosted by the Young Republican Federation of Virginia:
‘The elites are traumatized. They do not want to go stand in line and vote. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a game-changer. It [the decisive factor] is what electorate shows up to vote on a vote that can be certified. That’s a vote that counts. And right now, what they [Trump critics] don’t want to talk about, is Donald J. Trump leads on people who are actually going to show up and vote on November 3, by 21 percent.’
Post-election challenges and recounts attorney Chris Sautter has a career that has spanned decades and teaches at The American University. He said:
‘The first reports are the county totals. You don’t get the breakdowns [of votes cast in different categories such as early voting, mail-in votes, Election Day votes, and overseas votes] until after election night. It depends on the state.’
There are states that do not allow people to count the ballots until election day. Plus we have states that allow the ballots to be counted well after November 3. Then, there are the votes coming from the soldiers’ far reaches of war to be counted.
The president will claim victory as the in-person voters are counted and early mail-in voters send or take them to the nearest ballot box. Trump will claim he wins prior to the victory margins by flinging voter laws to the wind.
