A 19-year-old man named Alexander Hillel Treisman has been arrested in Kannapolis, North Carolina, after authorities found a cache of weapons in his van and child pornography on a number of his electronic devices. At the time of his original arrest in late May, Treisman was also in possession of a little over half a million dollars in cash, which authorities have indicated that they believe to be his inheritance. Treisman contemplated committing violent acts of terrorism including the murder of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, and amidst this plotting, he even traveled to a Wendy’s restaurant that is within four miles of Biden’s home in Delaware.

Treisman was arrested after employees at a bank called the police over his van, which he had left in their parking lot. Treisman “currently faces pornography charges,” but a recent federal court order “details a list of factors related to the defendant’s plans for a possible act of terror as grounds he should remain in custody,” according to local CBS affiliate WBTV. Authorities discovered numerous pieces of evidence that Treisman was considering committing an act of terrorism, including an online post that he made on April 15, 2020, with the caption, “should i kill joe biden?” Authorities also discovered that Treisman had conducted internet searches “seeking information about Joe Biden’s home address, state gun laws, rifle parts, and night vision goggles,” WBTV reports, and he also had a checklist that ended in “execute.”

In Treisman’s van, the cache of weapons included some half a dozen guns and a container of an explosive material called Tannerite. Treisman also had drivers licenses from three different states, and in his case, a federal judge ruled that “no combination of available release conditions would reasonably assure the safety of the community” and that “a preponderance of evidence establishes that no conditions would ensure Defendant’s presence in court” in the event of his release from custody. Thus, he remains in custody.

Treisman is not the only violent individual whose ongoing criminal case includes an element of a threat against Joe Biden. A Maryland resident named James Reed was also recently arrested after leaving a letter at a Joe Biden supporter’s home in which he threatened to violently target Biden supporters and torture and murder Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris on national television.
