Things are tough in Florida. People are paying attention to what Donald Trump is saying, and they do not like it. Friday, the president headed down to central Florida for another super-spreader event with his crowds tightly jammed together and few wearing masks. POTUS says we will have to learn to “live with it,” it being the coronavirus pandemic. He is wrong.
The Tampa Bay News released its jaw-dropping numbers:
‘Thursday’s caseload brings the total number of infections recorded statewide to 768,091, according to the Florida Department of Health. The weekly average number of cases jumped to about 3,300 cases per day. Thursday also showed higher levels of testing than usual, with more than 100,000 tests processed.’
Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees said that there would be an “additional review of coronavirus deaths:”
‘The state also added 57 coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the weekly death average down to about 77 people announced dead per day. On Wednesday, Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees said the health department would implement an additional review of coronavirus deaths, though it wasn’t immediately clear what the new review policy would entail or how it would affect the state’s daily reports.

Trump lied about COVID-19. Thursday it attacked 5,558 Floridians and 75,049 across the nation. Yet, he continues to blame China for his own failures. There are 223,828 deaths across the nation. The virology specialists predict another 200,000 by year’s end if nothing changes.
Health and Human Services (HHS) whistleblower Dr. Rick Bright told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer:
‘It’s important to note that even the data that we saw in the United States from that drug show that the benefit was modest. It wasn’t a home run. It wasn’t a remarkable improvement in terms of mortality, or even the lengthening or shortening of the length of hospital stay, but it did show some marginal benefit.’
The poignant images show what the ensuing economic crush has done to Americans. Tens of millions of people are out of work. Trump has the situation ass-backward. Do not send people into schools and bars and restaurants to create the image of a healed nation. Heal the people first, then the economy will follow.
Dr. Luigi Notarangelo, chief of the Laboratory of Clinical Immunology And Microbiology at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases told CNN:
‘Perhaps the White population will be protected and we will only see severe cases of Covid among the Blacks, which would be a total disaster from a social standpoint.“I don’t know what could be done but something should be done to facilitate inclusion of a vulnerable population, in this case, the Black population.’
The older and the younger, the Black and brown and white Americans, COVID-19 knows no boundaries. This pandemic is an equal opportunist.
