This time seemed as if it would never come. Now that there are only three days left until November 3, it feels almost too close. The Lincoln Project points out that the Democrats may have new opportunities in deep-red states. These Republicans and former Republicans have announced they would purchase over one million dollars of ads in Georgia, Montan, and South Carolina. Why?
Republicans and former Republicans formed the Lincoln Project and are putting their money where their mouths are:
‘With three days left, we’re targeting 3 deep red states with a million-dollar ad. The election map is turning against Trump and we’re going to capitalize on it. 🏴☠️

Co-founder of the Lincoln Project and longtime Republican consultant Ron Steslow said Trump is doing poorly all over the country, as first reported by Yahoo News:
‘[These states show[ just how badly the president is doing all over the country. These states never should have been on the map. They never should have been in play for Democrats in the first place,” Steslow said. “This just speaks to the massive coalition of voters that is coming together to repudiate Trumpism … the country is turning against him.’
The Lincoln Project’s ad buy includes “a mix of digital and television commercials.” It sees an opportunity for former Vice President Joe Biden as shown in the national polls:
‘Georgia and Montana have not backed a Democratic presidential candidate since 1992, when they both went for Bill Clinton. South Carolina hasn’t gone blue in a presidential race since 1976. ‘
The polls indicate that Biden was only one percentage point ahead of Trump in Georgia. In South Carolina, polls have him ahead by 7.5 points, and in Montana, he holds a whopping eight-point lead:
‘All three states are playing host to competitive Senate races. In South Carolina, polls have shown Democrat Jaime Harrison an average of 4.5 points behind Republican incumbent Lindsey Graham this month. The Palmetto State has not had a Democratic senator since 2005. ‘
Last week, Lincoln Project co-founder and another longtime Republican strategist Mike Madrid said on Y’all-itics, according to WFAA:
‘You can’t get to dead heats in Texas unless you’re losing, deteriorating with Republicans. You just can’t. We’re going hardcore to rural Texas to peel off just 1 out of 25, 1 in 30 of these Republican voters to say let’s make a vote for your country over your party at this moment in time,” Madrid said. “If we move just another 1 or 2%, it’s probably game over if Hispanics turn out at the numbers were think they’re going to.”
Madrid said the group considers this “a battle for the soul of the party:”
‘We’re not in the business of starting a new party. I am in the business of fighting for my conservative principles. They can call me a Republican In Name Only. I call them a Conservative In Name Only. These people are not fighting for conservatism. They’re fighting for Republicanism. And Republicanism is now the party of Donald Trump. It’s about populism. It’s about nationalism. It’s not about conservatism.’
‘Sometimes in a campaign, you almost kind of prefer that if the numbers become bad, it’ll give you an excuse to say let’s take this money and move it back into Wisconsin. Let’s go and work in Pennsylvania. Let’s go to Florida. But Texas won’t turn away, right. It’s like you kind of want it to give you bad data so it will help us focus our resources. No. Texas is saying come on down. Republicans here are moving.’
Twitter world went wild after this one came out. Take a look at how America responded:
