Kellyanne Conway Humiliates Herself During Thursday Fox News Debacle

Former top Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway appeared on Fox News on Thursday, and her comments were… interesting, to say the least. Her obnoxiously partisan spin on basic issues has returned. Conway complained about a supposed Democratic push to promptly wrap up ballot-counting in the presidential race, and she claimed that Democrats want to get the election over with because of disappointment over the supposed lack of a so-called blue wave… but it’s Conway’s own former boss, Donald Trump, who’s been pushing to promptly wrap up ballot-counting, no any matter valid votes that remain to be processed.

Yet again, Kellyanne Conway sounded disconnected from reality — just like old times, when she still worked in the White House. She said the following during her Thursday morning appearance on Fox:

‘Let me also say that they spent three years investigating the president, impeaching the president. We can’t wait three hours, three days, three weeks, to get a result in our great sturdy democracy as to whom the next president will be? I mean, what is the rush, all of a sudden? I think the rush is: there was no blue wave. There was no early night. There was no Democratic/ progressive re-alignment.’

Conway’s comments just do not reflect the actual reality of the election. In fact, Biden led Trump by millions in the national popular vote as of the time of her remarks, and he’d flipped three states and counting that Trump won in 2016: Arizona, Wisconsin, and Michigan. More directly — shortly after Conway’s own appearance on Fox, Trump made his own perspective abundantly clear yet again. In an early morning post, he ranted (in all caps) to “STOP THE COUNT!” as if he hoped to strong-arm the national election into ending up how he wanted. That, however, is not how democracy works — and again, this rush to stop counting the votes is coming from Donald Trump, not a Democrat.

Democrats like Joe Biden himself have presented the exact opposite perspective. In a Wednesday message to Americans, Biden said the following:

‘A government of, by, and for the people is very much alive, very much alive in America. Here, the people rule. Power can’t be taken or asserted. It flows from the people. And it is their will that determines who will be the president of the U.S. and their will alone… Every vote must be counted. No one’s going to take our democracy away from us. Not now, not ever.’
