The Trump campaign is targeting military voters with one of their latest nonsensical allegations of election fraud. The president and his allies have been trying to use these fraud allegations as a shield against the reality of Donald Trump’s election loss, but they’ve yet to find any conclusive evidence for their bombastic claims of some kind of widespread conspiracy. In Nevada, Trump campaign officials have claimed that up to 9,000 people who aren’t residents in the state improperly cast Nevada ballots — but Nevada law allows people including students, members of the military, and military spouses to maintain voter registrations in the state even if they live somewhere else.

One of the people who’s on a list that the Trump campaign compiled of supposed out-of-state voters is Amy Rose, whose husband is in the Air Force. Rose and her husband live in Davis, California, “where she works for a veterans support organization,” according to The Washington Post, while “her husband is pursuing a doctorate, doing Air Force-funded research in aerospace engineering.” These are just a couple of the legally registered voters who the Trump campaign is trying to punitively disenfranchise, but dislike for certain state laws on the part of the Trump campaign doesn’t automatically make those laws invalid!

Amy Rose spoke out. She said that it’s “really appalling to be used as pawns” in the GOP’s effort to discredit the election. Referring to herself and her husband, she says:
‘We both take our duties as citizens seriously. It was quite shocking to see our integrity challenged without any basis in fact.’

Some of the Trump team’s other allegations of supposed fraud have been truly bonkers. At a weekend press conference, conservative activist Matt Schlapp claimed that a so-called whistleblower had seen a Biden/ Harris campaign van in which people were opening mailed-in ballots and refilling the envelopes with ballots that were, presumably, favorable to the Democratic ticket. This allegation of Nevada fraud is totally unhinged. There’s not a single apparent shred of evidence that it actually happened. It’s hearsay, and the laughable story has so many holes — why is there no video? Why would someone perpetrating election fraud do so in a Biden/ Harris van parked in plain sight?
