President Donald Trump is still freaking out. He adamantly refuses to accept the results of the recent presidential election, which he lost by a significant margin to Democratic candidates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who are now the President-elect and Vice President-elect. On Twitter this Tuesday, Trump bellowed at the metaphorical top of his lungs about the fraud that he claims has been perpetrated against him. He ranted, occasionally in all caps, about “MASSIVE BALLOT COUNTING ABUSE” — but there is, quite simply, no evidence for Trump’s claims. He might as well be claiming that Martians who are made of cheese have invaded the White House.
In one of his tweets, Trump claimed that he’d been right about the “EARLY VACCINE,” referencing the conspiracy theory that COVID-19 vaccine developers purposefully waited until after Election Day to announce positive news from their trials. (Pfizer has announced that a vaccine they’re working on with BioNTech has an apparent success rate of over 90 percent.) There is no evidence of some kind of healthcare industry conspiracy against Donald Trump. At this point, is there any sector of society that Trump thinks isn’t conspiring against him?

Trump seems to be yelling about former FBI official Andrew McCabe because he was scheduled to testify to the (Republican-led) Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday. Trump and his allies have consistently alleged that the Russia investigation, which McCabe helped deal with, was some kind of covert anti-Trump operation, which is false. How many times can Trump and his allies deny basic, duly documented reality? Are they going for the world record in rhetorical leaps?
