President Donald Trump hasn’t taken questions from reporters in awhile, but he’s kept up the frantic pace of his tweeting in the aftermath of his decisive loss to President-elect Joe Biden in the recent presidential election. Trump continues to lie about that election and claim that massive fraud plagued the process around the country, despite the total lack of meaningfully conclusive evidence for his claims, a good number of which are just stunningly ignorant of the actual electoral process in the United States. On Twitter this Saturday, he claimed to be “exposing the massive corruption in our Electoral Process,” which he’s simply not doing. His claim to the contrary is self-centered make-believe.
He tweeted the following message, including quotation marks around the remarks, although it’s unclear where the comments actually originated if not with him:
‘”President Trump has done many great things (biggest tax & regulation cuts in history, Space Force, rebuilding our military, fixing the V.A., the Wall), but perhaps the most important of all will be what he is doing now, exposing the massive corruption in our Electoral Process.”‘

Again — Trump is not “exposing… massive corruption.” The Department of Homeland Security recently put out a statement insisting that the recently concluded election was the “most secure in American history.” Do the president’s allies seriously expect Americans to take Trump’s word over that of the Department of Homeland Security? Remember — Trump’s the guy who once said, in a public forum, that he’s “never understood wind.”
This Saturday on Twitter, Trump also addressed ongoing work to finalize a COVID-19 vaccine. He posted the following message:
‘Joe Biden was a total disaster in handling the H1N1 Swine Flu, would never have produced a Vaccine in record time (years ahead of schedule), and would do a terrible job of Vaccine delivery – But doesn’t everybody already know that!’

Does Trump expect Americans to believe that he himself wasn’t a “total disaster in handling” COVID-19? Tangibly speaking, what is he personally even actively doing these days to fight the crisis? The Trump administration previously rolled out a program called Operation Warp Speed in which they financially support COVID-19 vaccine developers. Federal support for a COVID-19 vaccine is a bare minimum and surely shouldn’t earn Trump personally some kind of obnoxious praise.
