Chris Christie, a former Republican governor of New Jersey, is among those who’ve apparently had enough of the Trump team’s antics. During an appearance over the weekend on ABC’s This Week, Christie tore into the Trump legal team’s behavior. During a Saturday appearance on Newsmax TV, Trump lawyer Sidney Powell made the utterly unhinged suggestion that Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp, a Republican, had received some kind of financial incentives to use supposedly corrupted Dominion-brand voting machines during the electoral process. These claims are utter lunacy. On ABC, Christie said that the “conduct of the president’s legal team has been a national embarrassment.”
Powell now accusing Kemp and Raffensperger of receiving financial benefits in exchange for using Dominion voting machines. Newsmax host asks her to clarify, she says: "We have certainly been told that there is evidence of that."

Christie said as follows:
‘The president has had an opportunity to access the courts… What’s happened here is, quite frankly, that the conduct of the president’s legal team has been a national embarrassment. Sidney Powell accusing Governor Brian Kemp of a crime on television yet being unwilling to go on TV and defend and lay out the evidence that she supposedly has — this is outrageous conduct by any lawyer — notice they won’t do it inside the courtroom.’
Indeed — twice, Trump lawyers have admitted that their court challenges did not hinge on specific allegations of outright fraud. They’ve waged a smoke and mirrors campaign to try and imply that fraud took place, but they’ve utterly failed to actually meaningfully support their allegations. Watch Christie’s comments below:

Besides Powell, who sounds increasingly unhinged, Trump’s legal team also includes former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who recently joined the legal team in a Pennsylvania court challenge against the election results. On Saturday, Judge Matthew Brann threw out that case, although the Trump team plans to quickly appeal. Brann said in his ruling that “this Court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations… unsupported by evidence.”
Outside of the courtroom, Giuliani has repeatedly claimed the existence of a nationwide, centrally-planned Democratic conspiracy to perpetrate fraud and swing the election to Biden. This claim is laughable lunacy, through and through.
Trump’s list of potential allies in his fight against the election results is quickly shrinking. After Brann’s decision, Sen. Pat Toomey, a Pennsylvania Republican, publicly acknowledged Joe Biden’s victory and status as president-elect. As Toomey put it:
‘With today’s decision by Judge Matthew Brann, a longtime conservative Republican whom I know to be a fair and unbiased jurist, to dismiss the Trump campaign’s lawsuit, President Trump has exhausted all plausible legal options to challenge the result of the presidential race in Pennsylvania. These developments, together with the outcomes in the rest of the nation, confirm that Joe Biden won the 2020 election and will become the 46th President of the United States.’
Trump responded by melting down on Twitter over Toomey. On Twitter, Trump flailed, posting the following lie-riddled message:
‘Judge Brann, who would not even allow us to present our case or evidence, is a product of Senator Pat “No Tariffs” Toomey of Pennsylvania, no friend of mine, & Obama – No wonder. 900,000 Fraudulent Votes!’
There’s absolutely zero meaningful evidence for the president’s claims.
